Siteground (a popular hosting company) contacted me about my website using too many resources. We’ve pinned it down to Jetpack making a TON of calls to my RSS feed – more calls than half my typical user traffic.

I’ve got the details from the server logs and I understand them a bit (thanks to the limited background I have in self-hosting years ago). I don’t think it’s useful to post them here, because it will likely require a lot of digging in and I don’t want to put IP addresses in a public forum.

I’m wondering how to best move forward. I know that Jetpack email support is for paying customers. Do I subscribe to Jetpack for a month just to get them to debug a problem that my hosting company has identified? I really don’t need any Jetpack services and I’m trying to just get to the root of what appears to be a Jetpack bug.
