    Hi,
I just run into this problem on my site

Sitemap gives error in google console (blocked urls including main page) and I can see these in the php log file:

file_get_contents(): Failed to seek to position -1 in the stream
     Type: PHP Warning Line: 1032
     File: /wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-seo-pack/modules/aioseop_sitemap.php
    file_get_contents(): SEEK_END is not supported
     Type: PHP Warning Line: 1032
     File: /wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-seo-pack/modules/aioseop_sitemap.php

Also when I check the sitemap.xml it will redirect to main page and I see this in the XML sitemap settings: Potential conflict with unknown file /home/…/sitemap.xml.

    My robots file

    User-agent: *
    Disallow: /cgi-bin
    Disallow: /cdn-cgi
    Disallow: /wp-admin
    Disallow: /wp-content/plugins
    Disallow: /wp-includes
    Disallow: /xmlrpc.php

    Thanks

What is the URL to your sitemap?

This bug has also created a huge amount of executions on my site which lead to an offline site.
I have disabled your plugin. Where can I send you the sitemap privately?

You’re reporting multiple, probably unrelated issues.

“when I check the sitemap.xml it will redirect to main page” No idea, but it likely has nothing to do with AIOSEOP. Try refreshing your permalinks.

“Sitemap gives error in google console (blocked urls including main page)” Since you refuse to link to your site with the plugin in action, I can’t possibly know anything about this.

“file_get_contents(): Failed to seek to position -1” I’ve opened an issue for this here: https://github.com/semperfiwebdesign/all-in-one-seo-pack/issues/1538

“Potential conflict with unknown file /home/…/sitemap.xml” It should be suggesting to delete the conflicting file you have, which is likely from another sitemap/seo plugin you had installed. I recommend doing that.

Nothing in that robots.txt looks like it’s blocking the sitemap, but 100% of times I’ve seen people report this, they previously had a different robots.txt that was blocking it, and that info was cached in Google.

“This bug has also created a huge amount of executions” That seems unlikely.

    Hi,

First of all let me tell you that I like and use your plugin for a long time and never had an issue with it. I am not b*tching your plugin just have these issues and want to fix them. Last week, my site was updated from a staging folder and after a week without issues I saw that the features in your plugin have been deactivated. (including robots and sitemap). Since I got them back activated there are multiple issues (including huge account executions) and not sure which one is related to your plugin this why I am reporting you all.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled your plugin the redirect on /sitemap.xml is gone but still have the other sitemap issue.
    1. You can see the error and link to my sitemap here: https://snag.gy/RLJOHd.jpg
If I click ‘Rename Conflicting Site’ or ‘Delete Conflicting Site’, then update the sitemap the conflicting error comes back like nothing happened.
    2. Google Console errors
with yesterdays robots (see previous message): https://snag.gy/dkIBw0.jpg
    with active basic robots: https://snag.gy/80FMqe.jpg
    3. See the spike in crawl stats which has created the huge amount of executions yesterday (which I was told by the hosting co the google crawl did that): https://snag.gy/RacFWj.jpg
    4. I never used another SEO plugin.

That’s all for now. I hope it will give you a hint about the issue and we will fix this error.

    Thanks.

    1. Click the button that says delete conflicting files.
    2. As you can see in https://stirilezilei.net/robots.txt, you’re blocking all bots from your website.
    3. That has nothing to do with AIOSEOP.
    4. Awesome!

    Hi,

    1. I wrote that I have clicked on that button and when I update sitemap (blue button) I get the conflicting error and both ‘Rename Conflicting Site’ or ‘Delete Conflicting Site’ buttons back.
    2. Got this solved it was a caching issue. Thanks
    3. It is to do with robots and sitemap isssue. Or not?

    Thanks

Just to let you know the sitemap error is back in search console. All urls are blocked:
    Warnings
    Url blocked by robots.txt.
Sitemap contains urls which are blocked by robots.txt.
    378

    Robots file:

    User-agent: *
    Disallow: /cgi-bin/
    Disallow: /cdn-cgi/
    Disallow: /wp-admin/
    Disallow: /trackback/
    Disallow: /xmlrpc.php
    Disallow: /feed/

Number 1. problem from previous message is also still there!

    Thanks for your support

I’ve already answered. You were blocking all bots in your robots.txt. This wasn’t even a problem caused by All in One SEO Pack.

I’m not your servant. Don’t make demands of me. You’re welcome for the free support.

Nobody said you are a servant, do not be silly!

I put 2 questions, you have only answered one but changed the topic to resolved. I was expecting to get the other one resolved as well. Is that too high expectation?

    1. Unfortunately the problem which you say it was solved is back. I see this is in Google Console:

    Warnings
    Url blocked by robots.txt.
Sitemap contains urls which are blocked by robots.txt.
    378

The sitemap and robots are generated by All in One SEO Pack. The robots is this:

    User-agent: *
    Disallow: /cgi-bin/
    Disallow: /cdn-cgi/
    Disallow: /wp-admin/
    Disallow: /trackback/
    Disallow: /xmlrpc.php
    Disallow: /feed/

    2. This one is also not resolved: There is a bug in your plugin as I wrote you here:
You can see the conflicting error here: https://snag.gy/RLJOHd.jpg
If I click ‘Rename Conflicting Site’ or ‘Delete Conflicting Site’, then update the sitemap the conflicting error comes back.

I hope you do not get offended if I expect some support on these 2 issues.

    Thanks!

    1) Already answered. This has nothing to do with All in One SEO Pack itself. You added a rule to block the sitemap.

    2) Switch to dynamic sitemaps.

As this has gone well beyond the amount of free support anyone could expect from a free plugin, and is now just going in circles, I’m unfollowing the thread.
