Hello,

I have one of my sites where I submitted the sitemap, but it shows that the number of discovered pages is 0. I tried resubmitting the sitemap, but the issue persists. However, my other sites do not have this problem. I also submitted /page-sitemap.xml and /post-sitemap.xml, and the number of discovered pages is now showing correctly. Can you please advise on how to fix this problem? I would prefer to submit just /sitemap.xml rather than submitting the page and post sitemaps separately.

Thank you for your follow-up!

Could you please remove the existing sitemap.xml file on GSC?(https://a.supportally.com/i/YQ4DIC)?and resubmit it to Google Search Console to check if it works?

Also, please confirm if you use any security plugins or firewall services on your site or server. If so, please temporarily disable them and try resubmitting the XML file to see if it works.

Hi @aurangajeb ,

I tried to resubmit a new sitemap.xml to Google Search Console both automatic and manual Submission, but the problem persists.

I also checked my plugins, and the most likely culprit is the ‘Disable XML-RPC-API’ plugin, as shown in the JPG image below. However, even after deactivating it and resubmitting, there is no difference.

These are all the plugins I have, as you can see.

Thank you for your follow-up!

Since you’ve individually added your sitemaps (/page-sitemap.xml, /post-sitemap.xml, and /sitemap.rss) and Google has discovered those URLs, you’re all set! No further steps are necessary.

Please note that having zero for the sitemap.xml does NOT indicate anything is wrong with the sitemap index.?

This computed process could be delayed until the ‘Total Discovered’ is updated, even after the child sitemaps have been processed.
