• Hi!

Google Search Console is not giving any error logs for this sitemap, but around October 22 I was adding many languages to the site and after a couple of days, Google was stoping to read the /ko/ sitemap after every new blog post.

Now Google is only reading it every 24 hours or samthing like that. I don’t know if it is an Google issue or an issue with the server pings (or similar to that) on your end?

You can have a look on the sitemap that Google is not syncing very often here https://mobilanyheter.net/ko/sitemap-news.xml . But Google is reading this sitemap for every new new blog posts for the Japanese edition https://mobilanyheter.net/ja/sitemap-news.xml and for the main site to https://mobilanyheter.net/sitemap-news.xml . What can be the issue?

    Thanks!
    //Rasmus

  • Hi Rasmus, which language plugin are you using?

Because the language tag in the news sitemap does not seem to correspond with the language. This may explain why Google News is confused. It may negatively impact your indexation…

Same goes for every post/page HTML source code language tags: they all are marked as Swedish (lang=”sv-SE”), even the Japanese and Korean ones… This will surely not be good for indexation and ranking, bot on Google News and the regular search engine.

    Hi!

Sorry for the late replay! Thanks for your help. Google is now reading the /ko/ and /ja/ Sitemap but you recommend to remove this plugin for the languages completely? It looks like Google News have begun to index articles then de-index them in like 5-10 hours (when they should be indexed for 48 hours).

After the July core update my site was stoping to show up in Top Stories, can it be because of this? I was earlier appearing in the Japanese and Korean top stories to. But not any longer. Have you heard of samthing similar?

    Thanks!

    Hi again Rolf!

I have now been in contact with the plugin developer for the plugin I is using for the /ko/ and /ja/ URL and they was writing like this:

“Can you please contact the sitemap plugin developer and ask if it will be possible to fix it by replacing the language codes in the source?
    ?
?We are able to replace strings using “Replace HTML before translation” tool.”

So my question to you is: is this passible?

    Thanks!

I don’t think so. The language code is not a translatable string.

I is using this plugin https://gtranslate.io/

Is that plugin available on www.ads-software.com so I can test it? Or is it only a payed option?

    Hi!

It’s available to try but if you want to try subdirectories that I use it’s a paid option.

You can see it here https://sv.www.ads-software.com/plugins/gtranslate/

    Thanks!

    Hi again Rolf!

Do you have PayPal? If you have I can send you money for one month so you can buy that for a test site and maby fix samthing in the plugin that can solve my issue (I believe that you can try one month and no more if you want).

I use the “business” plan for 28 dollars a month (https://gtranslate.io/). So if you want. I can pay a test month for you!

    Thanks!

Hi, I’ll have a look at the free version first…
