Sitemap Generator has Overriden the Actual Website

  • I generated a sitemap following the directions of a popular plugin, but it has overridden the entire site. I have no idea what to do, the theme is stripped it is just plain html.

    I deleted the sitemap file from my publichtml folder and it did not work and I am not seeing anything on my searches for similar problem.

    Any ideas, the site is live and help is much appreciated

    The site is https://www.purplepelicanphotography.com if that helps, I also posted on RPS Sitemap Generator Plugin support page, but the last post was a month ago.

  • Try these:
    – Deactivate all plugins and see if it helps
    – Revert to Twenty Twelve theme with all plugins off

    If you have login problems, you can take the above steps via FTP/ hosting control panel.

    i did not think that would work It is w3 total cache that no longer works or there is some new conflict that happened when i generated a sitemap… i cleared the cache, but that does no help.

    Yes, I think it works great now! Try again, clear cache, use another browser, another machine or call a friend to check it for you.
