    Hi,

I have enabled Sitemaps and sitemap.xml is genearted in uploads directory.

I am using this in multi sites network. So all the sites sitemap is generated in respective uploads folder path.

But it is showing 404 not found when accessed from SITEURL/sitemap.xml

Is there any rule to be added in nginx conf file for this?

    Thanks

    Hey @heenathakkar,

    Hope you’re well.

I installed fresh WordPress multisite with subfolder installation and looks like all sitemaps work normally. For example, I can reach maindomain.com/sitemap.xml file and maindomain.com/examplesubsite/sitemap.xml file too. So to replicate the problem I need more information.

Can you tell us, how is your multisite installed? Are your subsites using default URLs or mapped domains? Also, can you try to flush permalinks settings from subsite? You need to go to Settings > Permalinks page from your subsite dashboard and click save changes button.

    Cheers,

    Thanks for reply.

Sub sites are having mapped domains. So all the URLs are individual. For example, site1.com/sitemap.xml, site2.com/sitemap.xml, etc

And in all sites respective uploads folder there is sitemap.xml file. So I think rewrite rule is missing?

Tried refreshing permalinks but still not working.

I am using this with nginx server.

    Thanks

    Hey @wpmudev-support8,

    Hope you’re well.

I tried on my test sites with mapped domains but I couldn’t replicate the same problem. So maybe this is because of some other plugins conflicting. Is that possible to try plugin and theme conflict test?

For plugin conflict, you should deactivate all plugins and only try with SmartCrawl. If it solves the problem, try activating plugins one by one until replicate the problem.

For theme conflict, you should activate Twenty Seventeen theme and check the plugin again.

    Cheers,
