Sitemap is blocked by robots.

    Hi there! I am currently facing some problems about sitemap. I tried to link the sitemap to Google Console but it shows this page is blocked by robot. I have not edited or set things regarding this before.

    I am changing to use slim SEO now, I am not quite sure if that is the reason causing this problem. Hoping someone can help me with this, thank you so much in advance! ??

  • As the name suggests, shangrenbeautyclinic.wpcomstaging.com is meant to be a temporary “staging” address. You’d normally link your actual domain (eg shangrenbeautyclinic.com) later, so you don’t want search engines to index this temporally “staging” domain at all.

    That’s why your hosting provider — WordPress.com — is doing you a favour by preventing search engines from indexing your staging/development site. And that should be a good thing.

    If (for whatever reason) you want to run your website with this temporary “staging” domain and want it to be indexed, you’ll need to manually create a robots.txt file in the root of your WordPress installation to override the one created by your host, or install a plugin that can override this.     The URL appears to be for a STAGING site so you probably do not want it indexed.

    To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and www.ads-software.com are two different entities: https://www.ads-software.com/documentation/article/difference-between-wordpress-org-and-wordpress-com/

    Due to the differences between the various “types” of WordPress offered at wordpress.com and the self-hosted and self-installed version of WordPress supported here, you should probably ask WordPress.com support instead: https://wordpress.com/support/help-support-options/
