  • I have the same problem.

If I generate a file named sitemap I can’t view it with the option Wiew your file.

If I change the name and I generate another one, for example sitemapsolorock then I obtain the messages that all is correct and I can view it. A .gz file is generated with 9 .gz
But no one file sitemapsolorock.xml o sitemapsolorock.gz appears in root directory and Google Webmasters tools says the No sitemaps file is found.

    Help please.

    Thank you

I’m having a similar problem. My links are all Indexed, sitemap open up via https://www.mysite.com/sitemap.xml as well.

But on GWM says “0” Sitemaps, and when I click sitemap and go in, Sitemap says “Pending”.

On my root folder however, I have only the following 2 files:

    sitemap.backup.xml
    sitemap.backup.xml.gz

This has been going on for about a month now and it’s annoying. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Hi Chris.

I’ve been testings several things this morning.

    Try this one:
Generate a sitemap with All in Seo (you must activate XML Sitemaps plugin in Feature Manager)

In filename prefix (into XML Sitemap plugin, is a submenu of All in seo) change the default name (sitemap) and put another one (sitemaptest for example)

Select the others options as you want and “Update site map”. After that you must have some information about it in the top window. Then click on “wiew your site map” and another navigator tab appears with information of your new sitemap file (with a message like This sitemap index contains X sitemaps and the .gz files added)

Well, the sitemap file is generated but you can’t see it in your root.

Then you can go on to Google webmaster tools.

Verify your url web and go to Sitemaps in Tracking menu.

Then add your sitemap file click on the red button Add or Test Sitemap.
You must introduce the name of your sitemap file generated (sitemaptest.xml) and send.

    It works !!!

I Hope this message helps you.

    Bye.
