I usually schedule posts ahead. Right now, posts are already scheduled for December. When they are live, they show up in the sitemap with the last modified date, which is this month.

Is there a way to change this date to the date that the post was posted? To add a function where: if the posted date is later than the modified date, use the posted date.

Sorry, I think this is already the case…

    Hello @wendihihihi

    Thanks for your question.

The Yoast SEO plugin doesn’t have a feature that allows you to manipulate the <meta property="article:modified_time" for scheduled posts. The lastmod property in the XML sitemap reflects the most recent lastmod value.

Since post scheduling is a WordPress functionality and not Yoast SEO’s, you may be able to manipulate the cron job that publishes your content.
