    Hello,

I have a problem with the sitemap_index.xml/sitemap.xml file which I have configured for now to have only inside the page-sitemap.xml URL which contains all pages URL.

There was no problem with Yaost SEO which sitemap_index.xml file was well read by Google but the problem occurs with All in one SEO which I am trying today (after removed Yoast SEO) :

When I open the file sitemap_index.xml or sitemap.xml in the webbrowser with the following URL, the page-sitemap.xml sitemap URL is well displayed :
    https://mydomain.com/sitemap_index.xml
    https://mydomain.com/sitemap.xml

When I open the files after download them, the page-sitemap.xml URL is well inside.

But, when I propose to Google the file :

    >>> CASE 1 : page-sitemap.xml , all pages URL are well discovered inside.

    >>> CASE 2 : sitemap.xml , an error occur : “Sitemap could not be read”

    >>> CASE 3 : sitemap_index.xml , the file can be read but no URL are discovered inside (even if the page-sitemap.xml URL is inside and well working directly in “CASE 1”, no pages URL are discovered).

Do you meet the same problem ?

    Thank you

I have made some operations on the website and finally, the sitemap_index.xml finish to give the right URL number in Google Search Console.

But for information, the sitemap.xml stay in state “Sitemap could not be read”.
That mean that if the sitemap URL in robot.txt is with sitemap.xml, it could matter with some search engine. Personnaly, I had desabled the robot.txt managment by AIO SEO and create a personnel robot.txt with the right URL with sitemap_index.xml
