Hello! I have “The SEO framework” installed on my WordPress site. For SEO purposes, I’ve decided to use the URL with www. The problem is that on the sitemap generated by the plugin, the URLs are naked (without www).

I’ve tried by purging the cache of my site, re-installing the plugin, but it still doesn’t work. There is no option to change this from the settings of the plugin.

    How can I solve this?

    Thanks!

    Hello!

TSF generates URLs based on WordPress’s General Settings “Site Address (URL).” Please see if you have already added the www subdomain there.

Redirecting via .htaccess or other forms from non-www to www may appear to work, but search engines will still be urged to go to the non-www version until you change the Site Address (URL) setting.

Please note that www is a subdomain that was intended to bypass issues where the main domain was already in use for another purpose (such as telnet, fax, or email). Since we have moved to proper service routing (ports, protocol headers), www. has become obsolete.

There’s no proof that www. has any benefit over non-www, or vice versa.
