My sitemap page section won’t update for some reason. It doesn’t show all of my pages that are set to index. I have tried clearing all of my caches and talked with my hosting company and they cleared caches on their end as well. I have also tried to disable and re-enable sitemap feature to restarted it a few times. I am on the most recent plugin version and wordpress version. Any ideas that I am missing?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

@mhamiltonvisuals Whereas the XML Sitemap should dynamically update after any modification to it, if the site or server is caching the sitemap this can cause it to not update right away. We also have additional information on this at the following link: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/sitemap-does-not-update/.

If you are not seeing the sitemap as updated, we would recommend checking your caching settings and to ensure that the sitemap is being excluded from the cache. If the sitemap is being cached by a plugin we have directions on how to add an exclusion for the sitemap files to your cache plugin at the following link: ?https://kb.yoast.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-cache/

We checked on your domain and the sitemap file and it does appear to be cached. It looks like you are using Cloudflare on the domain, so you may also need to clear your cache there as well. You can find more information on how to clear the cache from Cloudflare here: https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/articles/200169246-Purging-cached-resources-from-Cloudflare

Thank you for the help. I cleared all the caches. Browser, cloudflare CDN, and hosting and still run into the issue. The page that isn’t showing up on the sitemap has also been active and indexed for 2 months now so I feel like it would have updated by now. I have excluded the sitemap from caching with my hosting company. Any other ideas?

@mhamiltonvisuals Can you please let us know what the URL of the page that isn’t appearing in the sitemap is? Also, is the page in question just a standard page/post?

Standard page. Let me know if you need anything else.

    Thanks,

    Hi @mhamiltonvisuals,

We checked the page sitemap, but there were only two URLs. Are there other pages that should appear?

We’d like you to do a test to see if this still happens if you?deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme?like?Twenty Nineteen.?

We have a step-by-step guide to do so without affecting visitors to your site here:?How to check for plugin conflicts.

    Hello,

I only have a few pages set to be indexed so that is correct. The homepage acting-headshots, and articles are the only ones set to be indexed so acting-headshots is the only one missing.

I just performed and plugin and theme test on a staging site. The issue was still present and the sitemap didn’t consist of the acting-headshots page.

    Hi @mhamiltonvisuals,

Thanks for your patience! If you edit the Acting Headshots page and check the Advanced settings in the Yoast SEO metabox, is “Should search engines follow links on this Page” set to “Yes”?

Can you give us more details about how you excluded the other pages from the sitemap and whether the settings in the Yoast SEO metabox are different?

    Thread Starter mhamiltonvisuals

    (@mhamiltonvisuals)

Yes, “Should search engines follow links on this Page” is set to yes.

The other pages were excluded by setting them to not be indexed inside the Yoast advanced tab for each page.

The only pages that are set to be indexed (that same way) are the article, homepage, and acting-headshots

In order to test it out, I just added a different page to become indexed inside the Yoast advanced tab, cleared my caches, and disabled and re enabled sitemap feature and that different page also didn’t show up in there. So we know it is not an issue with the acting headshots page specifically.
