Sitemap ugly url

We are sorry to hear that you are having an issue with the sitemap index. We looked at https://knowledge-bull.com/sitemap_index.xml and it looks like a sitemap generated by a 3rd party source. Are you using any 3rd party sitemap builder plugin on your site?

On the other hand, when looking at https://knowledge-bull.com/?sitemap=1, we see the sitemap is loading correctly as expected but the URL is not enabled for pretty permalink.

I am using yoast plugin but plz tell me how to correct it will google search console accept this non-pretty permalink cause i am about to submitt my url in search console

From our inspection, we do see the sub-sitemaps seen inside this main sitemap URL https://knowledge-bull.com/sitemap_index.xml are not actually generated by the Yoast SEO plugin although the main sitemap URL itself is actually correct that generates by the Yoast SEO plugin.

Now, we expect that you figure out which 3rd-party plugin is conflicting as such those sub-sitemaps exist and therefore disable them.

The fastest way to do this is to?deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme?like?Twenty Nineteen.?

Test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the?Health Check & Troubleshooting?plugin. This plugin allows you to run a conflict check?without affecting normal visitors to your site.

Once you figure out the culprit plugin, temporarily disable it and recheck whether you can see actual Yoast sitemaps from the main sitemap link https://knowledge-bull.com/sitemap_index.xml

Next, you’re ready to submit the main sitemap sitemap_index.xml in your Google Search Console.

I did what you said step by step but nothing resolved and now i have uninstalled the plugin but i got a folder name sitemap in public_html folder is it suspicious or normal are they created automatically or by virus?

The folder include in sitemap folder are
Class-wp-sitemaps-post.php
Class-wp-sitemaps-taxonomies.php
Class-wp-sitemaps-users.php

I haven’t created this folder

Is this the third part folder which is creating the wrong sitemap

Yoast SEO doesn’t create any sitemap files or folders on the server, so this is not due to the plugin. The sitemap that now appears at /sitemap_index.xml on your site is also not generated by Yoast SEO.

You can do a conflict check to see if that identifies which plugin is creating these files. We do not recommend leaving unknown sitemaps on your site if you’d like to use Yoast SEO, since that can cause conflicts and other SEO problems.

Before continuing, it may also be helpful to check Google’s guide for How do I know if my site is hacked? or contact your hosting provider to if you think there are any security issues.

Thanks for the reply i am seriously unable to find that faulty plugin even after lots of efforts can you plz tell that can i use redirect method so that if someone click on that pretty permalink he will redirect to the yoast generated site map which is in non pretty permalink because of that faulty site map i am seriously unable to add it in my Google search console cause google is not accepting non pretty peramalinks.

I imagine this can be frustrating for you.

This issue occurs when the necessary URL rewrite rules have not been implemented on your server. Depending on the server you are using, you’ll need to follow one of the instructions below to fix this:

Nothing happened i am so frustrated now i think this another site map is generated by wordpress because the new wordpress has the feature to generate sitemap automatically can you plz tell how to disable

@ujalarehan3 Yoast SEO should automatically disable the WordPress sitemaps if it is enabled.

As for the issue, we reviewed some of the individual sitemaps and the URLs contained in them do not appear to be legitimate, and furthermore appear to be characteristic of URLs generated when a site has been compromised with malware. I have figured out my website was hacked by Japanese seo hacker thats why those mess was created but now everything thing is under control

@ujalarehan3 Thanks for your reply. We rechecked the sitemap and do see it is now loading as expected. If you haven’t already, you may also want to resubmit your site’s sitemap to try and facilitate Google recrawling the site now that the compromise has been removed.
