Hi, I have a url on my wordpress site (domainname.com/mypage) , which is just a normal wordpress page. However I have a sitemap called mypage-sitemap.xml which is generated by yoast seo. I have child pages /mypage/page1 /mypage/page2 etc. When I have the permalink for mypage set to domainname.com/mypage the sitemap does not work. I get a 404 error and when I change the permalink for /mypage to /anythingelse it works as long as the permalink is not the same as (this)-sitemap.xml . Did anyone experience this issue? is there any workaround or is it an internal bug?

    Thanks in advance

  • Why is your sitemap called mypage-sitemap.xml?

Generally by default yoast outputs a sitemap index at domainname.com/sitemap-index.xml which contains links to individual sitemaps for different post types and taxonomies such as post-sitemap.xml, page-sitemap.xml, category-sitemap.xml, etc…
