    Hi there,
I just took over a new site and did some updates and it has moved server
    I installed The SEO Framework.
When I click on ‘The sitemap can be found here.’ I see it
And when I click on ‘The robots.txt file can be found here.” I see it

But I see neither of those files in my cPanel
    Whey would this be ?

I need to edit my robots.txt file manually to make some changes

    TIA, Dave

    Hi @daveporter,

The files are outputted via the WordPress Rewrite API. They’re virtual.
Just like your pages and posts aren’t visible in your cPanel FTP browser, neither are these.

We’ve done it this way because it’s super clean and portable. No mess is left behind when you deactivate the plugin.

    Adjusting robots.txt
The robots.txt “file” is outputted by WordPress but overwritten by TSF.

You can copy the contents of the virtual robots.txt “file” by navigating to it, and place it in your root folder via cPanel.
There you can adjust it easily, and the contents should be reflected when navigating to it.

Keep in mind that this will no longer allow WordPress or TSF to render the virtual file. Changes to the current output won’t be made anytime soon (probably never), but if they happen, we’ll let you know via a new interface.

    Adjusting sitemap.xml
We highly discourage you from overwriting this file. WordPress’ Rewrite API is dynamic, and TSF automatically updates this when needed.

I hope this helps ?? Cheers!
