When I go to the generated sitemap domain/sitemap.xml it shows a link domain.com/post-sitemap1.xml, but when you click the link to the sitemap it is just 404’s. This goes for the domain.com/news-sitemap.xml as well.

    Hi @jmeyer2485,

I hope you are doing good and am sorry to know that you are experiencing an issue.

I could see the sitemap is getting redirected to the URL with no extension (.xml). Can you please try a conflict test to see if a plugin is conflicting and causing the issue?

The following flowchart can help with better understanding the test process: https://wpmudev.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Support-Process-Support-Process.gif

If a plugin does not cause the issue, please bring this to the notice of the hosting support and check if they can provide any insights.

    Kind Regards,
    Nebu John

I had turned off all other plugins to test a conflict and none were found. I have since removed the plugin and went back to a different, previous SEO plugin.

    Regards

Hi @jmeyer2485 sorry to hear that you had to switch back to your old plugin.

The issue that you’re facing can sometimes occur due to conflicting permalink rules. If you are willing to give it another try, could you reset your permalinks with all other plugins deactivated? That should fix the problem. If not, our support team can help you dig down and fix the issue for you. I hope you’ll give us another chance!

    Thanks!
