• I’m having problems with the sitemap produced by SEOPress.

There were no problems at all with the sitemap produced by Yoast:

    See Yoast Sitemap

…and it was produced within a few minutes of uploading with no errors.

SEOPress’s sitemap is slightly different though:

    See SEOPress Sitemap

Many many many errors that I cannot trust will disappear, as the error messages themselves are throwing up things to fix.

Again I’m going back to Yoast until this rather important issue is addressed.

Can we use your staging site provided by mail to debug this please?

Sure, it’s still up and running.

The staging site is ok, we can see all the lastmod tag with the last modified date.

    Also something I just noticed:

I thought it might have been my server or something, as when SEOPress was activated, the website became really sluggish.

Just re-activated Yoast, and it’s flying again.

Right, well the problems started with the portfolio categories, the post series, the staff categories, and finally the portfolio, at which time I pulled the plug

    Hey @rainbowgeek

Did you finish the debugging yet?

    Plugin Author Benjamin Denis

    (@rainbowgeek)

Yes and we didn’t find any issues with the xml sitemaps of your staging site.

    (@deeveearr)

That’s probably because I disabled the xml sitemaps in my search console, as they were dragging the main website down in the Google serps.

I’ve now gone with AIOSEO, as even though the plugin is overcrowded with ‘update to pro’ notices, at least their sitemaps work infallibly.
