sitename wrong spelling

    on my email signature i have our web address but the sitename (i believe) appears incorrectly

    Welcome should be spelt WELLCOME – where can I change this?

  • Hi @murph78,

    The problem arises in the metatag’s descriptionattribute. If you do a right click on your webpage and select “view source” you should be able to identify the in correct spelling (you can also do a search for “Wellcome” there).

    Now, the way to get this fixed is to change that description attribute in the metatag. Take a look at the following article in Codex: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Meta_Tags_in_WordPress#Generic_Meta_Tags

    That should fix your problem.

    thanks for that- i think i have changed the description attribute in my sites header file but how long does it take to update as it is still showing as incorrect when i view source?

    Hi @murph78,

    I think I made a small error. You are supposed to change the contentattribute of the meta tag. It should change instantly. Should not take long.

    How did you make the change ?
