    Since the update to WP 3.7.1 all my sites are sooooooo slllloooooow, on various hosting platforms (mainly the shared ones though). It’s actually painful. Trying to edit/admin the sites is chronic.

    I’ve tried various browsers and didn’t update to Mavericks as had heard so much bad stuff about it.

    I’ve turned off plugins, but this is happening across several sites, all built differently.

    Can anyone help? Am considering returning to version 3.7.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    Yes. No joy.

    I’m also getting clients starting to phone with complaints they can’t use the dashboard as it times out… it’s either the update or the host…

    I’m speaking with the host too but it seems other people have reported the same issue with this update (e.g. other thread I posted in by mistake). Is anyone looking into the problem? Is it a known issue?

    Yes – this is a different client site actually – although the two may indeed be linked now you mention it WPyogi…

    Clients called me today re *another* site. They’re all loading really slow and they’re all almost inaccessible via the dashboard.

    Most are with same host, but some are on shared package, some on our VPS. I think the issue still exists with a further, different host.

    I’m just tearing my hair out. Can’t even edit stuff in the dashboard.

    Not that I’ve seen – any issues have been site specific.

    Most are with same host

    What host? Have you talked to them?

    Have you tried the standard troubleshooting steps esmi listed above?

    Have you narrowed down commonalities if it’s in multiple sites? i.e. theme, plugin(s), browsers, etc.

    I’ve tried the usual troubleshooting steps.

    Major commonalities seem to be host. A couple have woocommerce…

    Themes all different. Largely premium but not all.

    Was working ok until update…
