Sites break with 4.x updates! This is crazy!
In 2 sites that I have installed the framework the same thing happens.
Too bad they don’t check this before updating.

  • Hi,

What exact version do you have installed on those 2 sites? Also, can you provide any details on what the issue might be? A good starting point would be the debug log.

Please have a quick look at this article to enable debug logging. The contents of the debug.log file should give us a better idea on what’s causing the issue.

    Thank you.

    Hi,
I have had exactly the same problem. My site with the “blacksilver” theme works perfectly with Kirki 3.1.9; however, each time I have upgraded to a 4.x release (I have trie two different 4.x releases); then the Customizer breaks and also the fullscreen slideshow does not cycle through images.
This was, at least for my theme, confirmed by the theme support team.
    Kristian.

    @wombi1973,

please notify the original author of the Blacksilver theme about this issue. They might be able to tackle this on their end.

With debug logging enabled (as explained above) what error messages do you get in the debug.log file when trying to access the customizer?

    Thanks.

    Hi,
I just created the debug log file and I get the following entries a lot when I access the Customizer:

[09-Feb-2022 08:33:52 UTC] PHP Notice: Undefined index: required in /var/www/sites/kristian-ashton.net/wp-content/plugins/kirki/packages/kirki-framework/module-css/src/CSS.php on line 349
[09-Feb-2022 08:33:52 UTC] PHP Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /var/www/sites/kristian-ashton.net/wp-content/plugins/kirki/packages/kirki-framework/module-css/src/CSS.php on line 349

    Regards,

    Kristian.

    Hi @wombi1973,

the warning/notice will be fixed with the next release. Thanks for reporting!

@sessionstudio, any update on the debug? Thank you.

    Best,
    David

I can’t have any of the sites offline. So I’m not going to update the plugins for the time being.
Then I will replicate the same when I can to check the logs
