Site’s database been wiped

  • Hi. a few months ago you said all the sites using your theme were hacked and wiped. Today my site seems to be showing the same signs of being messed with. Is there a problem?

    The problem was already resolved within the 1.6.3 version of the plugin during the same period. And if you had the vulnerable version of the plugin installed in your site still then, maybe the potential hacker had utilized it and hence you faced this problem within your site.
    If you have the site back up then, can you restore to the previous working state and see if that helps to restore your site? If you do not have then maybe your hosting provider to have them. So, can you please consult on it with them once and ask them to restore your site to a previous working state?

    Hi there. the site is back up and the hosting company was able to correct the issue. They said the website was connecting to the wrong database. the explanation was a bit technical for me to understand. They mentioned it could be an issue with scripts and also websites generally need optimizing all the time. I couldnt get her to pin down if it was a plugin issue or something else.

    But since the website is back up and running with nothing lost i cant complain too much. Thanks for getting back in touch. Sorry if i was a bit panicky earlier.
