• Hi, i see in my database under options table for siteurl input, there is a field for “option_can_override” and the default value is Y. What happened if I set it to N, does this mean that if I change the value for siteurl in my admin panel under options-general, it will not change? Help me by sharing your knowledge. Thankss!!!!!

This tutorial seems to suggest leaving it set to Y: https://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/site-url/

But, if you want to find out what it does, backup your database and set it to N. If it breaks something, you can always restore from the backup.

Well, ive tried and it seems to override the siteurl path even though i set it to N. I just wonder what is the functionality of the “option_can_override”. Anyone??

Search in all wordpress files, any reference to option_can_override, and see if you could make sense of it.

By the way, I don’t know the answer.

I’ve checked almost all the files in WPress but i didnt find any function that use the option_can_override, only in upgrade-schema.php but it only used once when it creates the table and put a default value of Y. I guess, theres no function for it after all.
