Sizing Images

  • Hello,

    We have a site using WP and WooCommerce. Most of the images that staff uploads to the site is 1:1 aspect ratio but sometimes people upload images that are portrait. Does anyone know of a way to take a photo that is portrait and make it square without hard cropping it? I want to actually add white space to the image, typically to the left and right sides of it.

  • Hi @velcrodogdesigns . Except for rotating the images in the media library to landscape or portrait, you can check your theme customizing options. Just go customize theme – Product Images. You can play around with whichever option works for you, from changing size or having it un-cropped. Hope it helps?

    You could try scaling the image down then set the image container to display:flex and justify the content justify-content:center. The image would then be centered and would fit vertically in the container.
