How do you size images correctly so that they flow smoothly in a slideshow without bouncing the content below up and down?

    Thanks

i normally size images before loading into the wordpress media library.
creating a common dimension for all images is idea to avoid the automatic adjustments to the slideshow based on the size of your actual image.

what is the final dimension of the slideshow you are using?

That was my first mistake. I presumed that the images were of the same size because I downloaded them from the same source/supplier/site. So clearly I’m not using a single dimension. Won’t do THAT again. So…can they be re-sized in iPhoto or can I resize them all in the WP Media Library?

And before I forget, thanks for replying.

i don’t use iphoto so I don’t know for sure.
however, most photo editing programs can help with resizing (scaling to retain proportions), cropping and compressing photos.
i don’t edit photos in wordpress library.
there are ways to do it but i prefer external methods for more control.

also try (online editor I’ve heard good things about)
    picmonkey.com

    i use photoshop elements

Thanks for the link. I’ve since started using GIMP for sizing images, but will definitely explore this at length.

    Thanks again.
