Skip to Content, for Improved Accessibility
-
Hi,
I want to start by saying that this is a really nice theme, and has improved with the last update. I would like to make one small suggestion, in order to help improve the accessibility of sites that use the theme.
For users who use screen readers, it is important to have a link near the top of the page that will skip past the navigation elements, to the content. You can imagine how long it would take to sit through the reading of every single navigation element on a page – only to have to hear it again once you click a link.
This technique is described in this WCAG 2.0 document:
https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG20-TECHS/G1.htmlIt would be fantastic if this simple addition could be included in your next update.
Why am I asking? I run a WordPress multi-site network at a university. It is my responsibility to provide my users/bloggers with accessible options for building websites, and to promote accessibility on our network.
I would love to be able to include this theme in my list of recommended themes.
Thank you for taking this into consideration!
Cheers.
