    Hi,

I have a problem with Skip-to-Position time codes: they do not display in the show notes pulled by Podcast Addict and iTunes (did not check it in other apps).

Funny because Podcast Addict automatically makes a time code format text into a link, but it just skips the time-code line provided in the podcast episode RSS.
So it displays nothing, not even a plain text time code.

It is the same in iTunes: no time codes, just a blank line.

Am I missing here something to make this feature work in the show notes?

    Thanks,

    Szabolcs

UPDATE: I have checked the podcast RSS feed and ‘skip-to’ time codes do seem to be missing from the feed — at least from my feed.
There is a general line instead of the specific time codes at every occourence:

    <!– /wp:shortcode –></p>

But not the time code itself.

    Please reply with the following…

    • Your feed URL
    • Your listing on iTunes (URL)
    • The shortcode as you enter it to enter the timestamp shortcode

    Thanks,
    Angelo

    iTunes listing url:

I enter the shortcode in a Gutenberg shortcode block, as follows (example):

    [skipto time=”0:05:11″]

    Thank you,

(remark: the forum engine changes the quotation marks as I enter them, but they are both standard quotation marks in the original shortcode)

    Hello @tszt,

I see the issue. The shortcode has one other option, the text link that goes around the shortcode. This is a bug in PowerPress though, if the time is entered alone without a label then we use the time as the label, but evidently we are not returning this as the label in the feed.

    1. We will fix this bug in the next update to PowerPress.

    2. In the mean time you can enter the shortcode this way:

    [skipto time="0:05:11"]0:05:11[/skipto]

The text in between the shortcode tag is the “label” that stays even if the skipto shortcode is not used, such as in the feed or in a excerpt.

    Thanks,
    Angelo

    Hello,

I am sorry to say, but this problem does not resolve for me with the plugin updates.
The time codes are not displayed in the podcast feed (and consequently, they are not displayed in the podcast players). Though they appear on the blog posts on the website.

    Here are the links:

    My podcast feed url:

    https://azeletmegminden.hu/feed/podcast/

    iTunes listing url:

    https://itunes.apple.com/hu/podcast/az-%C3%A9let-meg-minden/id1393849643

I enter the shortcode in a Gutenberg shortcode block, as follows (example):

    [skipto time=”0:05:11″]

    Thank you for your attention!

    Hello @tszt,

Did the latest update solve your issues? There were scenarios we were not handling such as the shortcode for the Apple iTunes summary, which should now be fixed.

    Thanks,
    Angelo

I have updated the plugin on the site. And it WORKS!

I have tested it in Podcast Addict on Android, the time codes now are displayed in the show notes inside the app (pulled from the RSS feed), and they work as intended (clicking on them positions the player at the location given in the time code).

    That’s great!

    Thank you so much!
