Earlier the plugin was working fine but for 2 weeks I am facing some problems. Last Sunday, 4th Sep. it sent partial backup(only 1 file in place of 5)to remote storage and on 11th Sep. no backup was sent to remote storage. On checking inside the plugin it shows a backup On the 11th, however, below the “Backup data” tab, it shows only “Plugins” and remote storage SIGN below the backup is missing. Has it anything to do with the recent frequent updates taken by your plugin?

Today, I took a manual backup and it was perfect(automatically sent to remote storage also).

Can you click View Log next to the backup that didn’t complete properly, paste it to a site like PasteBin, and share the link here.

Then people can check it out and let you know what went on.

    Hi @mayank2021

Yes, please send us a copy of the backup log?
This can be found in the UpdraftPlus Existing Backups tab.
The contents will be too long to post here directly, but you can use an online service such as Dropbox or Pastebin, and post the link here.

    Hi,

Could you try to reduce the backup archive split size. This will split the backup into smaller, more manageable files.

To do this, open the ‘expert settings’ section of the UpdraftPlus Settings tab, and find the ‘split backups every’ option. Set this to 25Mb save your settings and run a new process.

    Thanks,

    Thanks for your quick response.
It’s “Split archives every” on my site. Should I set this to 25MB? Further, does “run a new process” means “taking new backup” or something else?

I asked just to confirm because presently it’s 400 MB, not anywhere near 25 MB.

This week it took proper backup WITHOUT ANY CHANGE. I was waiting for you to say something before touching “expert settings”, but perhaps you are too busy.

    Hi,

    Apologies for the late reply.

Regarding the archive split size, that is the correct setting to change.
The 25mb is the lowest possible archive size you can set. If it continues to fail, you can adjust it to 300m/200mb/100mb or less. This allows processes to be shorter and easier for the server to process.

    Thanks,
    Bryle
