Skipping Order numbers

Since the WooCommerce 3.0 update, I have noticed that we’re skipping large chuncks of order numbers.

We’re often (several times a day) skipping 20 – 50 order numbers. A couple days ago we skipped 500 order numbers in 20 minutes.

Orders numbers were often skipped in the past. I know that if someone starts the checkout process but doesn’t finish, it will skip. When testing, if I go back and forth from the cart to the checkout, it will skip several numbers. But 500 in 20 minutes is impossible.

1) Is there a way to investigate those skipped order numbers? Is there any data kept somewhere?

2) Anyone else experiencing this issue?
