SKU from ID + slug possible?

  • Is it possible to automatically create a SKU with the following format:
    [product ID]-[product slug]

    For example:
    428-wool-sweater

    In the case of variable products:
    [product ID]-[product slug]-[variation ID]-[variation slug]

    For example:
    428-wool-sweater-743-red-striped-medium

    If this is not possible, is it planned for the future?

    There is no such possibility. But we liked your idea, we put it on our to-do list, I think sooner or later we will do it. It’s also possible with a premium plugin, but we haven’t thought about it yet.

    It would be good to have the ID there so that the SKU is unique, but also the slug that makes the SKU human readable.

    We are prepared to pay for this feature.

    You can set the ID and the label, but separately. We will figure out how to implement what you want. Please allow 24 hours for a response.
