• Hi there

I’m using your plugin together with SKU Shortlink and I would like to know whether you’re aware of any clashing that might be happening between the two plugins.

Yours works well and generates an SKU for each product, but I’m not able to add that SKU to the URL, which is what I’m aiming to do. The reason is that I will have multiple products with the same name, so I don’t want WP to add “-2”, “-3” etc. to the end of the URL.

If I’m missing something, please let me know. I will GREATLY appreciate any help you may be able to give me.

    Thanks

    Hey?@dewaalman,

Thanks for writing to us about our plugin! I apologize for the delay in getting back to you. I’d be happy to help out here. ??

We haven’t heard of any reports regarding the compatibility with SKU Shortlink and I haven’t personally used this plugin in the past. Having said that, I’ve reviewed their feature set and I don’t see why the two plugins wouldn’t be compatible.

It sounds like the primary issue here is that Product SKU Generator is creating a lot of similar SKUs due to the duplicate product names. This is a requirement because WooCommerce requires SKUs to be unique across the online store.

If you are just looking for the ability to create custom permalinks for some of your products and don’t need them to be automatically generated or SKU based, a plugin like Custom Permalinks might work a bit better as it would allow you to set a custom permalink for every product different from the standard permalink WordPress allows you to set up.

Would you please share a bit more details about your needs here to see if I can offer any other alternatives? Additionally, could you please share why the customizable permalinks bundled with WordPress wouldn’t work well for your site’s needs?

    Thanks,

    Tamara
