SKU’s with ‘/’ as a character

I’m having an issue where if I have a SKU with a ‘/’ in them, the url will become something like: domain.com/product/ABC/123

I am unable to change the SKU’s as that would be too drastic of a change for what I’m doing. Is there a way to replace any characters found in the SKU with another character when setting the shortlink. Ideally, I’d be able to replace ‘/’ with ‘-‘.
