I created the Incoming Webhook URL through Slack. No apparent problem. I switched to WP Live Chat Support Settings, Slack Notifications, on my site, and attempted to update the Slack WebHook field. The https: of the URL string was stripped when I pasted the value into the Slack WebHook field. So what is left: //hooks.slack.com/services/…

I tried manually inserting the https: but when I reach the : colon, the https: is stripped off again. Help please.

    Hi Ian

Thank you for getting in touch with us.

We strip out the https of the URL as we’ve found that keeping this in, causes some issues with the page saving on some hosts. We do however pre-pend the https onto the URL when it gets used though.

Are you experiencing issues with getting notified of new chats at all?

    Hi Jarryd,

Odd. It seems to be working now, both direct (within WP), and through Slack.

    Apologies.

    Best Regards,

    Ian

    Hi Ian

Not a problem, so glad to hear it’s now working as expected.

If possible, please consider updating your review as it appears to be working on your side now – we’d really appreciate this.
