  • The devil is in the detail here for cross platform consistency. Some browsers wont render things with no content. I use a div with an   then set margin and padding to zero.

Thanks vkaryl, I had to add that to each of the footer elements, it seems to have worked ?? Uploading the new file as I type.

Really appreciate your help with this ??

Oops. Yes, I forgot that detail! I just had to redo a bunch of stuff on my machine, and was typing from memory as the relevant programs and files are at present still on cd waiting to be reinstalled.

Absolutely – Root is right, you really need the div with   just to fox the idiots in the browser world. I’ve had luck both ways with using or not using the 0 margins and padding; I think it depends on the page structure overall more often than not – sometimes it’s a necessity, other times it’s superfluous.

Thanks for helping out my aging brain again, Root!

[kyte, just saw your last post. I’m really glad it worked out!]

@root: eek… i’m off to check the browsers. I’ve uploaded 4 times now I think and am almost sick to death of this wonderful theme.

@vkaryl: hope your suggestion has been enough.. I did not see Root’s until after I had uploaded.

??K I can report that Slick now works for Firefox on Mac and Win, it works for IE5.2.3 in Mac and IE6 on Win, it also works for Opera 8 on Mac. Love to hear from some linux users with regard to other browsers. I imagine any khtml browsers will work, because Safari works just fine too.

Unfortunately, in Opera 7 and 8 on Windows, the slick theme layout falls apart. ??
No idea why at this stage – but from experience with Opera/Win, trying to troubleshoot and fix this could be a doomed mission …
Too bad. I really wanted to use this theme above all for my personal blog.

I’ve installed Slick for WP, and am having mostly success with it. However, I seem to be having trouble with Firefox. When I view my pages with IE, the layout is fine, but with Firefox, the footer comes right below the calendar, cutting through the page at about halfway down.

    Any suggestions?

To many problems. I went ahead and switched to Nucleus.
