• Im sure many of you are familiar with the site layout that slickdeals.net has. The topics are posted at the top, and listed by day, and when you click on one, it goes below to the actual post. Is there a plugin that does this? I’ve been looking, but haven’t found any yet.
    Thanks

  • This is your 2nd mention of that website in minutes. Do you have an interest in steering folks there?
It’s a basically crappy website layout. And why would I want to click on anything there?

No, I run a different site, I just realized that it might be more of a plugin thing then a theme thing. I have no issue with deleting that other post

I also agree the layout sucks, its just that one function that I am looking for.

With some creative output buffering and CSS, you could build up the top links (and proper anchors) in The Loop as you process each post, and output the link list afterwards, then with CSS position as you’d like. Or, buffer both things, then spit them out links then content.

I wish I knew CSS better. Thats part of the reason I went with wordpress, so I wouldn’t have to spend time learning any new programming or anything.

There’s nothing just ‘sitting there’ that would remove the need for some level of understanding… Aside from someone editing your theme, or building a theme that does what you pointed to. Especially not if you want it to perform even slightly well (i.e., not actually duplicate-querying the system…).

You don’t really need CSS, this could be done all in a custom index.php for your theme. But, it does mean you need custom PHP code… ??

Anyone know if such a plugin or theme exists? Im still looking for one, but haven’t had any luck.
