Is there a way to disable the slide preview when adding them in the channel section. The auto-preview slows down the system to a crawl as I add slides. It would be better to turn this feature completely off unless required after all is loaded. Maybe an option that when checked will disable or enable the preview.

    How can I do this?

Hi there! Currently there is no option to switch slide previews off I’m afraid. I know it can be a bit heavy, so I might change the way this works in a future release.

It shouldn’t halt your system though! Is there a specific reason the system slows down? Are you using dynamic content on slides that is playing while editing the channel for example? Or a very large amount of slides? Let me know, maybe we can find a workaround for the time being.

Here is a screen recording of my trying to add video background slides from youtube in real time. You will see why this can be pretty bad.

The “Display” link after complete works fine, but it’s just getting to that point is the issue.

    Here is the result: https://digitaladvertisingmedia.com/foyer/sample-ads/

I would love just find a way to speed it up.

Also I emailed you a while back about purchasing a “White Label” version of your plugin for use with my business. You can email me back at “[email protected]

I also have some programing work for you if interested.

    Thanks so much

I think I can add slides while this is happening, but it makes some of the slides fail loading because the screen refreshes after sometimes.

    Hi Darnell,

Thanks for that video. It indeed takes a loooong time, not a workable situation!

I have worked with channels with over 30 slides, and the channel edit screen then also slows down a bit, but still loads within 5-10 seconds. Not 2 minutes. So I suspect your web hosting or theme is causing this.

Could you troubleshoot a little bit more for me? How long does it take to load a channel edit screen with just 4 slides on it? How is your website hosted and how fast is it in general? Could you send me the URL of the display that uses this channel with 17 YouTube’s? You can use this form: https://foyer.tv/send-info/

I might change the way the slide previews on channels work in a future release, but this will take weeks or months. So better get this problem solved quickly with a workaround..

Will get back to you about the white label!

    Best,
    Menno

I installed the plugin on another site with very little other plugins and the speed is very fast now. So it looks like it could be a conflict with some other plugin or because the new site is on the same server too.

I would call this issue resolved and will just use a different site for digital signage all together.

I’m still interested in a white label version of your plugin.

Hi Darnell, good to hear switching to another WordPress install solved the problem. Will get back to you about that white label question.
