Slider and latest news(posts)

Hello,

1-How can i change number of slides that shown in main page? Currently its 5. I would like to change ?t to custom number.
2-Slider shows latest 5 number of post. Also latest post section shows same latests posts. Because both of them start from latest post no 1. So i would like latest post section to start shows lastest post after slide show lastest post like 6. post 7.post etc…how can i do it?
