Slider, Contact Details, and “Our Services” not working

  • I’m building a website for Dave’s Automotive Enterprises, hosted by HostGator.com.
    The link to the page that is not working is currently for the temporary domain I’m using to design the page.

    Theme: Free version of Advance Automobile by Themeshopy.com

    My procedure:
    I’ve been working through the steps outlined at https://www.themeshopy.com/demo/docs/free-advance-automobile/ .
    Slider
    For the slider, I created a page “slider test page”, and created a 1600×633 image which I set as the featured image. Then I followed the instructions in the Themeshopy documentation linked above under Slider Settings:
    In the WP dashboard, under Appearance/Customize/Theme Settings/Slider Settings, I selected the checkboxes for “Show/Hide slider”, “Show/Hide slider title”, “Show/Hide slider content”, and “home page slider overlay”, so that there is a check mark for each of them. I selected “Slider test page” for the first slide image page. I left the rest of the slider settings unchanged.

    No slider shows on the home page.

    Our services
    I created a post category, Services. I created a post, titled Car Repair, and assigned it to the category Services.
    In the WP dashboard, under Appearance/Customize/Theme Settings/Our Services, I titled the section “Our Services” and selected the category Services. The Our Services section is not displayed on the home page.

    Contact details
    I have also filled in contact details Appearance/Customize/Theme Settings/Contact Details, and nothing is showing up on the website as shown in the themeshopy help guide. I had to use some footer widgets to put the contact details on the page.

    Hello @dorfird,

    It might happen that you skip the step of setup the homepage. Follow the below step do it.

    1. Go to Dashboard >> Pages >> Add New Page, name it “Home” then select template “Custom Home” from template dropdown and publish it.

    2. Go to Dashboard >> Settings >> Reading, Set the front page display static page to the home page you have created.

    Now you will see your slider, service & contact section on the home page.
