Slider doesn't display using div-float to wrap text

I’m trying to wrap the slider with content using ‘<div style=”float: left”>’ but the slider doesn’t display. It works fine when on a line by itself but nothing when I try to word wrap.

Is there another way to wrap text content around the slider that will allow the slider to display? I have an example on this test page. The top item has the slider enclosed in a div, the second item is the same slider standing alone, and the third item is the same article wrapped around a dbox slider with the div adjustment.
