slider has intermittent images missing

Hi @penelope323. Thanks for using MetaSlider. I’m looking at the slideshow now on mobile and all the images are showing correctly. Can you point us specifically to any that are missing?

I have just run the slide show on my iphone. It is entirely random. 2 slides ok, 3 slides missing, 4 slides ok,3 slides missing,3 slides ok, 2 slides missing, 2 slides ok, 4 slides missing, 2 slides ok. I have made a video of the effect. Since then I have just run it again and the sequence is different!

I have just tested on my ipad and find that the first three slides show and then 15 are showing the caption only and one is missing altogether (the slide jumped after the 3rd slide that was showing.) This is on Chrome and on Safari as well.

Thanks @penelope323. I do see that issue now on a couple of browsers. It looks like you have a plugin with a “Lazy Load” feature that’s causing issues. I presume that’s Smush? Can you can try disabling that feature to see if it helps?

Thank you for your persistence. It appeared that ‘lazy load’ in smush was already disabled, but I have confirmed in configuration that it is now not active. However I have tested on the tablet and the iphone and there is no difference.

This morning when I checked the desktop there were 3 images (captions still there) missing and the slide was jumping. When I checked just now it was fine – everything working. It might have been possible that lazy load was, therefore interfering with the desk top, but sadly the problem is still there with the tablet and iphone.

Hi @penelope323 can you please try this setting on Smush: Smush > Lazy Load > Native Lazy Load

I have set Native lazy load.

Now on desk top 7 images show and 12 captions only show. It jumps during the first three images.

On tablet 4 inages show and 15 captions only show. It jumps during the first three images.

On the iphone 3 images show and 16 captions only show. It jumps during the first three images.

Should I delete smush from the site altogether and see what happens? (smush has done a bulk optimisation – Could I add it again when I have added more images to the site?)

Hi @penelope323. At the moment, the image are still showing as both cached and lazy-loaded.

Steps 3 and 5 are worth trying. If those don’t work, try Step 9.

I tried all of these, 3,5 and 9 but still no change so I have, sadly, deleted the MetaSlider and used an inferior slider incorporated with Kadence! Thank you for your help.
