• Season’s Greetings!

I’m about to launch into a new website with the latest versions of WP and Customizr and things have changed! Congrats to @nikeo and associates for all the enhancements. This theme just keeps getting better.

Of course, I’m here with a query on day 1. Last time I set up a full-width slider on a home page there was a nifty option to automatically centre the image so that no cropping occurred. I can’t now see that option – and for some reason my 1200×500 image is overfilling the slider window.

Where did I go wrong please? TIA.

  • Nothing chappie.
    It’s how center slides works.
    I try to explain:
When you use a full width slider the image width is 100%, so, since the slider box is limited in height, if you don’t check the centering option, your image will be “bottom-cropped” of X pixels, if you have that option enabled the slide will be vertically centered, and then you’ll see it cropped of X/2 pixels both on top and bottom.

?? How quickly one forgets. At least, this one does.

I’ve amended the image subject matter to allow for expansion/contraction.

    Thanks d4z_c0nf.

Yeah, if you don’t have a very large monitor should work fine ??
And don’t worry about forgetting how center slides works, probably just me (’cause I’ve written it) and nikeo (’cause he accepted and amended my script) know how it works ??

I’m having the same issue but I don’t know where to set the centering feature … in the media file? Can’t find it in the customize admin menu.

    Customize>Global Settings>Responsive settings

Thanks rdellconsulting. I had already enabled that feature, but my home page slider image still gets cut off when viewed on larger monitor. Any other suggestions (other than creating a new page with a custom layout)? Thanks.

kgueter1, there are two things you can do to ameliorate the problem:

    1. Frame your slider images so that the parts of it liable to be lost from view are non-critical;

    2. Use a framed slider rather than full-width. Only full-width sliders keep growing as the page widens beyond 1200px: framed sliders will just centre themselves within ever wider borders.

Hi! Thanks for a great Theme! I have tried several before I found this one and it is absolutely the best one!
I too have a small issue with the slider, when I changed the settings in Responsive settings my slider goes into “infinite loading” and with that I mean it keeps loading and no picture. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

    Thanks!

Please start new threads for different issues.

Since you posted we might as well add that we had that problem too especially when slider height was changed (but maybe when it was normal too, can’t remember). It would load image (we could see image below load screen as height was 600px but load screen never went away). Likely had something to do with auto-center option in responsive settings + image size + slider height.
