On the mobile version of my site, the sliders are stretched vertically to an unacceptable point. This is a recent issue and happened out of the blue, so I tried to revert to numerous previous backups using VaultPress, but this did not resolve the issue. I tried to download the plugin regenerate thumbnails but that didn’t work either.

It looks like the pictures “think” that the phone is being read from a horizontal screen, but it is still in the vertical position. ONLY slider images are stretched.

It is on an iPhone SE that this is occurring. i have not been able to test it on other mobile OS’s or devices. Is there any idea what may be causing this stretching? It seems to have appeared out of no where. Thank you.

@seagullstreasure We’ll need to see the website to be able to debug this for you. Can you share the URL?

Yes I can, it’s https://www.seagullstreasure.com. The error is in the slider (above featured posts) whenever it is on a mobile device. The only one I know of that has a definitive error is the iPhone SE.

Additionally, In the Kale theme sidebar on the very bottom next to the hide-controls option, there is the option to view the site on desktop, iPad, or mobile. On each of these it looks *correct*. Not sure if that information will help but wanted to relay it. Thanks for looking into this.

    Hi!

We have the exact same problem with our site https://www.sisinkfactory.com.
Can you please explain how you resolved the issue?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

It was because we bought the personal version of JetPack. We mainly did this to enable VaultPress. However if you go to JetPack–>Setting, there will be a toggle switching the media section that says “Speed up images and photos”. Disable this and save. This resolved the issue for me.

Another possible solution suggested is that the JPEG images are too big. WP-Smush will compress them. But the main thing that solved it was changing that JetPack setting.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks so much for sharing, @seagullstreasure!

    Hi Sara,

I disabled JetPack option “Speed up images and photos” and pictures look great again. They are not stretched anymore.
    Thank you so much!

    Ana
