slider never loads – just shows spinner

I have tested this on WP 4.4.2 as well as 4.5, and the slider never loads, it just shows the spinner icon.
I deactivated every plugin on the site except Master Slider WP and the slider still doesn’t load.
I created a new slider and that won’t load either. Although all the sliders preview just fine.
