slider on main page only

Ey! I try to put the meta slider only in the home page with that code, but don′t work. I managed to insert the slider on my page, but I have not gotten putting it in the header.php, because there was not working, i put the code in /wp-content/themes/flaton/archive.php, next I paste the code [metaslider id = XXX restrict_to = home] but don’t work, the slider is still seeing in all the pages

If you’re editing templates you’ll need to use the template include instead of just the shortcode:

echo do_shortcode(“[metaslider id=XXX restrict_to=home]”);
?>
