Hi, I thought I this slider looked just like what I’m after and was going to upgrade to pro but there is an issue I can’t resolve.

When you load the page the slider first appears about 800px wide for about a second before it suddenly goes full width.

I have set it as full width, some settings I have applied are:
    Flexslider
Width: removed default 700px so it’s now empty
Height: removed default 300px so it’s now empty
Advanced settings -> Stretch: ticked (100% wide output)

Not sure there’s any other settings that would be relavant, but like I say I’m trying to make a full width slider but it starts at around 800px or so then a second later it jumps to full width, obviously this won’t be ideal in production, could anyone please advise?

  • Hi @barrypoore,

Are you able to share a link to a page with the slideshow? Also, I think it’s better that you have the best guess height and width in there. Does your site have a max width. You could use that.

Hi, thanks for your reply but I’m still in local development at the moment. I think having to guess a target width and hope for the best just seems to me that it goes against all the principles of responsive design.

The viewer could be on mobile, tablet, desktop etc etc the possibilities are huge. This should be able to snap to the parent width instantly. I’m really surprised with the amount of downloads/installs of this plugin that it’s not fully responsive.

It’s a shame but this will be a deal breaker for me, I’ll have to find an alternative solution.

Solved, downloaded W3 Cache, purged caches since readjusting the settings, it’s now behaving like it should ??

    Hi @barrypoore,

Good thing you didn’t abandon us too early ?? The dimensions in the settings are useful for image cropping and aspect ratio. But it should work with out them set as well. Let me know if you run into any more issues.

By the way, if you’re enjoying the MetaSlider plugin please leave us a 5-star review. They really help us out. Thanks!
