• Disclaimer: I’m a small business owner, not a website developer. I only know the basics of html.

When I updated WordPress today the slider on my homepage stopped working and the text boxes underneath it don’t show the “learn more” but instead all of the text. Earlier today I had a syntax/parse error but updating it fixed that issue and created a new one.

    Can someone please help me?

I can’t be sure but that looks like a commercial theme (Sky) with a built in slider. You’ll need to get in touch with the developers (Elegant Themes?) on whatever support channel they have made available to you. We aren’t able to assist with commercial products here.
    Good luck!

    Hi Bill.

Thank you for getting back to me. I hired a website designer to make the site for me a few years ago. I’m not sure if it’s commercial but if you say that it is then I believe you. I’ll try to get in touch with someone there.

    Thank You!

Since it’s a commercial theme, there may be an update to it that will take care of the issue for you. However, you’ll have to work out whether you can get an updated version from them since your developer was probably the go-between. Can you contact your developer? He/she should know the licensing terms for the theme.

Your current version seems to 2.3, though I don’t know what the most recent one is.

Thanks Bill! I received a response from them and will work on it tomorrow.
