Slider visible on top-home page (website) hidden on dashboard.

The preview works: Yes (the slider is missing in the slider plug in. My other 3 sliders are still there.
It works with other themes: Haven’t Tried
The slide plug in works. I resized the slideshow on the home page and I could no longer find it listed in the slideshow plug in. The media images were gone too. I did not resize the other slideshows. That (resizing) would be the only difference. The other 3 slideshows are still intact.
It works when I disable all other plugins: Yes / No /—-> Haven’t Tried to disable any plugins. I have never done this and do not know if it makes a difference to the existing work. I need assurance on this point. My dilemma is compounded by the images that are no longer visible in the media folder.
