Love the idea of this plugin, Slick is brilliant – but sadly I can’t get Slidy to work for me.

I installed this plugin, and set up three slides containing photos and text, and then added those slides to a category.
I then tested both the Slidy add to template method and the shortcode method, but was unable to see the slides using either approach.

My page shows what looks like a ‘slidy’ area with three dots and scroll arrows, but the slides themselves are flat lines with nothing in them.

Viewing the source, I can see the slide titles and links, but not the text or images within the slides.

I’m using a not-very-customised child them of 2013 (my customisations are on other areas of the site – the standard page template that I put Slidy on just has a couple of css font and colour changes).

Any idea what I’ve done wrong?

    Dear cycas,

Have you also set the image that you want to see in Slidy as the featured image in the slide post? Because that’s how Slidy grabs the imagew.

Just try setting that image as the featured image (usually) from the right panel of the slide post. Then, it should work.

I’m sorry I didn’t write that you need to set that option for Slidy to work. So, my apologies… I’m going to include that information as soon as possible.

Please let me know if this works

    Cheers
