I have been trying to fix the slideshow size for many, many weeks. Apparently this is a one size fits all program. There is a maximum width line listed in the default settings, but then there are no instructions anywhere on what numbers to enter in besides ZERO in order to make the total width of the slideshow smaller.

I have tried to write to the forum, but have never received instructions on how to change the ZERO default to anything else that affects the size of the slideshow.

Regrettably, I can’t wait any longer and tomorrow I will have to begin hunting for another type of plug-in that gives me flexibility with size adjustments. I already have built several slide shows on my website with this current plug-in, so throwing away this plug-in and starting all over from scratch will be a setback of a many hours to create a new slideshow program. I only wish there was more feedback on how to operate the width controls!! Disappointed….

The maximum width settting is a number of pixels. When set to zero, it will be ignored and the slideshow will simply become as wide as its containing element.

If the maximum width setting doesn’t work for your slideshows, I would gladly have a look at your website.

    Stefan,

Thanks for writing back. I’ve been desperately waiting for weeks to get this fixed! Here is where one of the slideshows appears: https://murderproductions.com/about/ceo-president/.
I have tried to enter triple digit pica numbers on the maximum width line to no avail. I’ve used a 100, 300, 600, 700, etc, but none of those do a single thing to make the containing element smaller.

Your help or suggestions would be appreciated.

That’s strange. When I copy your website to my computer and change the maximum width setting to, for instance, 300 pixels, it adjusts its width accordingly. This means that it’s not a conflict with your theme.

At the moment I see that both slideshows on your page have their maximum width set to 0. Are those the current settings in the admin as well?

I’m not sure what you mean by the admin. I’m a newer user of WordPress during the past 4 months. By admin, do you mean the media library? Could you be a little more specific about where I can find another area that controls the slideshow maximum width?
    Thanks.

By admin I mean any kind of page in WordPress’ backend that only you, the administrator, can access to change settings and content.

You can find the maximum widh field on the same page where you add images to the slideshow. Every slideshow has its own settings, so make sure you’re edting the settings of the right slideshow.

There’s a General Settings page in the slideshow’s menu as well, but the Default Slideshow Settings tab on this page is only for newly created slideshows. Slideshows that already exist won’t be affected by settings you change there.
