I just started managing this site and had to upgrade a LOT of plugins, including meteor slides.

The slideshow content appears in the html, but the jQuery appears not to fire to begin the animations through the slides.

The slideshow should be in the big blank area at https://www.mdpl.org/. The first slide, in the div called mslide-1, is set to display:none and never shows up. I looked through the code and didn’t readily see the problem. Can you help?

I deactivated and re-activated Meteor Slides plugin, then uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin entirely. No change in behavior.

Nothing is being written to the html with the ids specified in slideshow.js: next: ‘#meteor-next’ or prev: ‘#meteor-prev’.

ul class for meteor-nav is being set to display:none even though I have the naviagtion set to “both” in the control panel.

The image assigned class=”meteor-shim” appears to be throwing the alignment of the overall slideshow off… the slides in the slideshow are appearing beneath the image assigned class=”meteor-shim” instead of “meteor-shim” being used as a placeholder, which is what appears to be the intention.

I added a new slide just to see if perhaps the data had become misplaced relative to the scripts, but the same behavior happens… all the divs containing the slides are set to display: none; and JQuery Cycle appears never to fire, so the space for the slideshow is blank and remains that way.

When I change the display setting of the images in the html (by adding “display: block” to the inline css via Firebug), the images appear, but at smaller than actual size. The slides sources and links are being loaded into the html in what appears to be the correct way, but the slides are the wrongs size and the slideshow never starts.

It’s probably a fairly simple conflict, but not being familiar with the scripts, it would be super helpful to hear from the developer of the plugin – he or she could probably solve this in 12 seconds flat.

OK, the sizes were reset by to the default when I reinstalled the plugin, but the script is still not properly changing the image assigned class=”meteor-shim” to display:none, or cycling the slides within the divs assigned class mslide-1, mslide-2, etc.

    L’il help?

    (@andrewbacon)

I’ve verified that the scripts cycle.all, metadata, touchwipe, and slideshow are being loaded in that order.

    OK, I found a conflict with Collapse-O-Matic: https://plugins.twinpictures.de/plugins/collapse-o-matic/

And there was one other, but I forgot which – sorry.

    Looks like that’s got it.

Hi Andrew, I was out of town at a WordCamp this weekend so I haven’t been online much. It looks like the slideshow is working now, did you get it fixed?

    Thread Starter andrewbacon

    (@andrewbacon)

    I didn’t get it fixed exactly – there is a conflict with Collapse-O-Matic: https://plugins.twinpictures.de/plugins/collapse-o-matic

I did at least figure out how to get it working, but you guys should coordinate to fix the conflict… I can’t use both plugins at the same time.

OK, I’ll test that out and see what the conflict is.
