    Hi michaelsam,

    You can set a default order from Galleries->Settings->Gallery-> Sort Thumbnails / Sort Direction

    the problem is that it starts at every page reload from the first pick – sort order doesn’t matter – with the new nextgen 2.0.6x it starts random somewhere and thats what i like it to do

    What about
    [random id=’xxx’ template=’yyy’ max=’zzz’]
    xxx= gallery id
    yyy= template (optional)
    max = max. number of picture to display (optional9

    Example:
    [random id=’1’/]

    its the widget in the menu – on the left side bar i don’t want to have a specific album i want to view pictures randomly from the whole gallery like it is designed for and i do not want it to start always from the same pic – the last i added
    so somehow nextgen was able to get this working in the new version – cause in the old one it didn’t work – so if you get it working it would be nice

    I believe you need to add JW Image Rotator plugin for this function and then set it up under “Galleries” “Settings”. This will randomly select the first image displayed and the balance will follow in order from that image on, based on upload date.

    What’s the URL for the JW Image Rotator plugin? Automatically searching for it using the adhoc button returns nothing.
